Our History

"Let's dive into the story of the designer behind Le Caftan Original, a woman of Moroccan origin, lulled by the enchanting alleys of Fez. Her first apprenticeship in fashion began with her mother, a skilled pattern maker, who instilled in her a love of the ancestral art of the caftan.

The summers of her childhood were tinged with the sparkle of precious smothers, while her aunts, masters in the art of fine embroidery, shared with her their well-kept secrets. These holidays were much more than moments of relaxation; they were precious lessons, sensory explorations into the heart of luxurious fabrics.

Over the years, she followed her mother and aunts, assisting at every stage of the caftan making process, from the meticulous choice of materials to the final embroidery. Theory quickly turned into practice, on “barbies” tenderly given by her mother, on which she began to bring to life caftans imbued with her own signature.

This is how her love for craftsmanship took root, blossoming in her heart. The precious scraps of stifle were her playground, where she gave life to unique creations. It was no longer just a family legacy, but a burning passion.

Today, this art, passed down from generation to generation, finds its continuity in each of the original caftans, a fusion of tradition and modernity, carrying the soul and history of a lineage dedicated to the splendor of the traditional Moroccan caftan."
